LIEUT. John K. LEONHARD
PECK
Was born at Peck, July 16, 1896, son of Leo John and Elizabeth Leonhard, acquired his education at the Peck school. His occupation was clerk. He has one sister: Nattie. He is a Selective Service man, going to camp Custer November 23, 1917. From camp Custer he was transferred to Camp Lee, Va. He belonged to Co. M. 12th Brigade, R. T. C. he was promoted to rank of Corporal January 3, 1918, and on August 26, 1918 was again promoted to rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He returned home January 3, 1919, having been honorably discharge from the service.

PTE. ROY STEPHEN HILL
PALMS
Was born in Marion Township, October 1891, son of Stephen and Lucy J. Hill, and attended the Cedardale school. His occupation was farming and carpentry. He has two brothers and three sisters: Williams and John: Ella, Elva and Lulu. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer May 5, 1918. He sailed for Arch Angel, Russia, In July, 1918, with the 85th Division. He is a member of Co. M, 339th Infantry, and is still station at Archangel.

PTE. EARL LUAR
DETROIT
Was born in Lapeer, January 29,1896, son of G. W. Laur and wife and acquired his education at the Detroit Western High School and Michigan Agricultural college, graduating from the former school on June 18, and attended the latter school in 1916 and 1917; working on his father farm near Decker in the summer when he was called to Camp Custer May 27, 1918. He sailed for overseas on July 1918, with Co. M. 339th. Infantry and is now in Archangel Russia.
 
          PTE. WILLIAM J. Gough 
          McGregor
Was born at Deckerville, October 28, 1890, son of John and Lucy Gough, and attended the Downington school. His occupation was farming. He has one sister and two brothers: Jane Richard and Trayton. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer September 21,1917, but was transferred to Camp MacAuthur , Texas, October 28, 1917 . He sailed for France with 32nd Division January 25, 1918, and is still overseas.
 
 
PTE . HARRY A. LESILE
DECKER
Was born in Evergreen township, March 13, 1885 the son of Davis and wife Emily Leslie, and attended school in Evergreen District No. 1 his occupation was farming. He has three sister and two brothers. Clipha Mary, Bernice , Leland and George, he is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer on November 22, 1917 and in December of the same year was transferred to an Arkansas training camp. On March 1, 1918. He was lately promoted to billeting officer and is stationed in Germany.

LEXINGTON
 
Was born at Silverwood, Tuscola county, on December 22, 1896, son of William’s and Tille Howey, acquired his education at the Lexington school. His occupation was farming. He is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer August 29, 1918 he belonged to Co. E< 78th Infantry, 14th Division. He received his honorable discharge and return home on January 28, 1919.

PTE. HARLOW J. SHANKS
LEXINGTON
Was born at Deckerville, October 21, 1889, son of John W. and Elmira M. Shanks, acquiring his education at the Lexington schools. He was a mariner by occupation. He has one brother and two sisters: Willard D., Ada O> and Verna. He is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer on August 30, 1918, and was attached to CO. L, 160th Depot Brigade. He was honorably discharge from the service, and return home November 27, 1918.

PTE. HERMAN W. TANK
SNOVER
Was born in Moore Township, December 21,1894, son of August and Lena Tank, and acquired his education at the District school. His occupation was farming and threshing. He has four brothers and three sisters Arthur, Roy, Dewey, and William; Clara, Florence, and Lena. He is a Selective Service man going to Camp Custer May, 27, 1918, and sailed for England in July of the same year with the 339th Infantry, and now is serving in Russia. Hen was promoted to rank of first class Private August, 1918.

SEAMAN GEORGE A. KRAUSE
ARGYLE
Was born in Argyle Township, January 31, 1897, the son of Frederick M. and Mary A. Krause and acquired his education at the district school. Hs occupation was farming. He has one sister Edith: he is an Enl8isted man, entering the service at Detroit on June 4, 918, in the navy, and was sent to the Great Lakes Training School, and later to Caldwell, New Jersey. He is a member of Co. F. 2nd Regiment. He was ranked as first class sailor and on November 1, 1918 was promoted to rank of Barrick Chief, at Camp Caldwell, N. J., where is he now stationed.
 
PTE. JOHN McQUEEN
SNOVER
 
Was born in Evergreen township, November 25, 1892, son of James and Ida McQueen, and acquired his education in the Evergreen District school. His occupation was farming. He has a brother and sister: James O. and Mrs. Harry Rockwell. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer on November 22, 1917, and was transferred to Camp Grant D3ecember 4, 1917, and later to Camp Merritt, N. J. from where he sailed for overseas May 27, 1918. He belongs to the 108th Trench Mortar Battery. He is still in France.

Was born in Austin Township, December 12, 1819, son of John S. Peters and wife, and acquired his education at the Freiburger school. His occupation was farming. He has two brothers and five sisters: Linus, Ira; Edna, Anna, Ila, Emma and Wilma. He is a Selective Service man and went from this county to Camp Custer May 27, 1918, later transferred to Camp Mill, N.Y., and on July 21, 1918, sailed to Co. A 339th Infantry and is overseas.

Was born in Argyle Township, October 13, 1993, son of William and Augusta Krause, and acquired his education in the district school. He has eight brothers and one sister: Albert, Edward, William, Charles, Fred, Frank, August and Herman; Clara. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer April 1, 1918 and was transferred to Fort Riley, Kansas, May12,1918, later sent to Camp Greenleaf, Ga., July 5 of the same year. Belongs to Co. C, in the cook and bakery department.

SERGT. FRANK E. MAHON
MINDEN CITY
Was born in Delaware Township, January 15, 1889, son of George and Isabella Mahon, acquired his education at the Ferris Institute. His occupation was hardware merchant. He has two brothers and two sisters: Herbert A. and James A., of Toledo Ohio; Mrs. George Hyde, Carsonville; and Mrs. Floyd Thompson, of Minden. He taught in the district schools of this county for seven years and was superintendent of the Minden city schools for two years. He owns half a interest in the firm of Baughman & Mahon< Minden City, dealers in hardware and automobiles. He is an Enlisted man, entering the service at Detroit, November, 1917. And has been stationed at Camp Humphrey's. Va. On September 4, 1918as promoted to rank of Sergeant, and was recommended to receive a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the Motor Transport Corps on October 15, 1918, but as the armistice was signed he was never called. He received his honorable discharge from the service and returned home January 25, 1919.

Let. William R. Lough Jr.
Croswell
 
Was born at Edmonton, Otsego county, N. Y., July 12 1892 the son of William R. and Rosa R. Lough. He was educated at the Edmonton High school and later attended Harvard University, graduating with the degree of an A. B. He was a clerk in the National Bank of Croswell. He has one sister and two brothers Mabel L. Parker and Roger R. He is an Enlisted man, enlisting at Fort Sheridan, Ill., in the officers training camp. He was promoted to rank of 2nd Lieutenant August, 1917, and was transferred to Camp Custer. He was promoted again in July 1918, to 1st Lieutenant, and sailed for France July 23, 1918, he belonged to Co. H. 340th Infantry, 85th Division, but is now a member of the 35th National Guards and is now in Germany in the army of occupation.

PTE. JOHN GRUBER
TYRE
WAS VORN IN AUSTIN Township, May 25, 1887, the son of Benjamin and Marion Gruber (Mrs. Paul Gatz) and attended school at Freiburger, later going to Big Rapids, and completing his education at the Mt. Pleasant Normal. His occupation was farming, but after completing his education at Mt. Pleasant, he taught a term in Argyle and Elmer township and Elmer township and later went to Philippine Islands, where he was superintendent of a school there for three years. He has four brothers and two sisters: Joseph, Jacob Frank, and Paul; Mrs. Charles Me Idaugh and Gertrude. He is a selective Service man and went to Camp Custer April 1, 1918, and was assistant leader of the contingent. He was transferred to Camp Gordon, Atlanta Ga., and sailed for France on May 6, 1918. He belongs to the 115th Infantry, and is in France.

LEIUT. CLEVE R. BRADSHAW
ROSEBURG
 
Was born at Roseburg, March 4, 1894, son of J.D. and Henrietta Bradshaw. He attended the Roseburg school and the Yale high school, later going to Ypsilanti Normal. His occupation was teaching. He has two brothers and two sisters: Jeptha and Roy; Margaret and Livonia. At the age of 22 he received a commission in civil service work and went to the Philippine Islands where he taught for two years. He is enlisted man, resigning from teaching in Grand Rapids and entering the officers’ training camp at Fort Sheridan, in the fall of 1917 and received a commission of 2nd Lieutenant, sailing for France January 6, 1918. In Jul he was again promoted to rank of 1st. Lieutenant. He belonged to Co. L, 101st Infantry and was wounded in the hand at Chateau There on November 10, 1918, the day the armistice, was sign. He is still in France.

PTE FRED S. DINGMAN
LEXINGTON
Was born in Worth Township, May 13, 1896, son of Daniel S. and Matilda C. Dingham, and was educated at the Hayward school, District no. 12 fractional, Worth and Lexington. He has one sister and five brothers: Pearl Dingham Fockler, William H., Howard F., Albert J., Rexford M., M. Dee. He was a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer on Sept. 21, 1917, and was attached to the Machine Gun Co., 338th. In July, 1918, he sailed for overseas service and has not return home.

PTE. ELMER GIBBS
DECKER
 
Was born at Tory, Oakland County, February 1, 1891, the son of Philetus and Mary Gibbs, and attended the Withey school in Evergreen Township, Sanilac County. His occupation was a mechanic. He is a Selective Service man left for Ann Arbor to take a special course at the University of Michigan in mechanical training June 5, 1918, and was later transferred to Camp Custer. He is a member of Co. H. 78th Infantry. He is still in th4e service.

WAS BORN AT Gaylord, Michigan; May 15, 1896, the son of Charles and Barbara Kulush, and educated at the district school at Cumber and finished his education at Clearly Business college in 1917. He has three sisters: Anna, Clara and Agnes. He is a Selective Service man and left for on November 22, 1917, Camp Custer, from there he was transferred to Waco Texas, December , 1917. He belongs to Co. G. 128th Infantry, National Guard. He sailed for overseas service on March 2, 1918, he was gassed during the battle of Argonne Forest, August 30,1918. He arrived home in May.

PTE. EDWARD SHIPLEY
LEXINGTON
 
Was born in Lexington township, June 8, 1895, the son of Edward G. Shipley and Jane Shipley, and was educated in the Lexington schools. He was engaged in farming at the outbreak of war. He has one sister and three brothers: Anna, John M., George Glenn, Leland H. he was a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer on April 1, 1918. From there he was transferred to Camp Gordon, Ga.; in May, where he attached to the hospital corps. While at Camp Gordon he had an attack of rheumatism and pneumonia and also underwent an operation. In September he was transferred to Camp Hancock, a., and is now with the base hospital unit.

MINDEN CITY
 
Was born in Delaware township, April 1, 1887, the son of John and Jane Kerbyson, and attended school in District No. 2, known as the Kelly school. His occupation was that of farming. He has two sisters and two brothers: Elizabeth and Mary, David and Alexander. He is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer on April1, 1918. On the 27th of June he sailed for overseas with the Automatic Replacement Department. He has not return home yet.

Was born at Oscoda, Michigan, August 23, 1885, son of James and Zina Shooks, and acquired his education at then Oscoda and Au Sable schools. His occupation was farming. He has two brothers: Harold and Grant. He is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer May 27, 1918. He sailed for Russia July 21, 1918. He is a member of Co A, 339th Infantry and still in that country.

Was born at Forestville, November 11, 1893, son of Nicholas C. and Mary E. Potts, and attended the Forestville school and Ferris Institute. He has four sisters and three brothers: Loretta Juanita, Celestine and Evelyn;
William, James, and Nicholas. He is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer September 21, 1917. Was promoted to rank of Mess Sergeant January 1918. He sailed for Archangel, Russia, July 1918. He is a member of Co. C, 310th Engineers, 1st Battalion, and is still in Russia. He was engaged in the real estate business in Detroit.

SERGEANT EARL F. WOLFE
SNOVER
 
Was born in Moore Township, August 28, 1895, son of Fred and Minnie Wolfe, and received his education at Urban district school No. 2. His occupation was farming. He has three brothers: Franklin, Oscar and Stanley. He is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer September 21, 1917,and was later transferred to Camp Gorden, Ga., on April 24, 1918, and sailed for France the latter part of July. He was made corporal of his company and June 19, 1918, he was promoted to rank of sergeant. He was poisoned by drinking water from a shell hole. He belongs to the First Brigade and is still in France.

Was born at Valley Center, June 3, 1897, son of John R. And Ruby King, and attended the Croswell schools. He has four brothers and three sisters: Arthur, Ray Louis and Austin; Esther Jennie and Helen. He entered the service as a Enlisted man, enlisting in Detroit in July 3, 1918, and was sent the Great Lakes Train9ing School, and later was sent to Key West, Florida. He was promoted to rank of 2nd Class Seamen. He returned home December 17, 1918.

Was born in Canada. January 20, 1896, son of Levi and Alice Hastings, and attended the Worth Township District school No. 3. His occupation was farming. He has one sister and one brother: Vera and Leo. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer September 21, 1917. Was transferred to Camp MacArthur, Texas, October 29, 1917. He embarked for France February 28, 1918. He is a member of the Machine Gun Co. L. 125th Infantry, 32nd Division. He is with the army of occupation.

His occupation was farming. He has one sister and six brothers: Olive; Oscar, Gaylord, Lewis, David, Charles, and Willis. He is a Selective Service man going to Camp Custer September 10, 1917. Was transferred to Camp Lee, Va., May 16, 1918. Was promoted to rank of Sergeant June 1, 1918. He attended an officers’ training school and received rank of 2nd lieutenant . he is a member of Co. F. 338th Infantry, 85th Division. He was honorably discharged from the service and returned home December 10, 1918.

Was born in Croswell, December 26, 1896, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Henry, and attended District school No. 1, Lexington Township. He has one sister: Mable J. he went to Camp Custer, August 29, 1918, as a Selective Service man . he was promoted to rank of Wagoner, November 15, 1918. He was mustered out of service on Feb. 6, 1919.

Was born in Austin township. February 28, 1899, son of George R. and Fannie A. Soule. Acquired his education at the school in District No. 4, Austin, and completed his education at Clearly Business College. His occupation was farming. He has five sisters and four brothers: Ellen, Laura, Alice, Anna, and Blanche; he was a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer on April 1, 1918, but was transferred to Camp Gordon, Ga., in the same month, and was attached to Battery E. 110th Regiment, Field Artillery, and left for overseas on June 27th, 1918 and has not returned home.

Was born at Minden City, April 9, 1892, son of Harry Russell and Viva E. Rice, and attended the Croswell schools and the University of Michigan. he has one sister: Verie E. He is enlisted man entering the service at Detroit, December 12, 1917. On December 25, 1917, was sent to Camp McArthur, Texas, and sailed January 29, 1918, with the 107th Engineers, Co. C, 32nd Division. He was promoted to the rank of the service with the army of occupation.

Was born in Marlette, Township, June 13, 1896, son of Mr. Mr. and Mrs. John Byrnes, attended District school No. 4, His occupation was farming. He is a Selective Service man that went to train at Camp Eustis, from this county on October 24, 1918. He belonged to Co. A, 64th Regiment. He was mustered out of the service December 20, 1918. He was married to Rose Cornwell at Sandusky, January 30th, 1918.

PTE FLOYD VINCENT O’MEARA
MINDEN CITY
 
Was born in Bridgehampton Township, September 2, 1893, son of John and Charlotte O’ Meara , attended the Minden City schools. He has four sister and two brothers:
Mrs. Alger Williamson, McGregor; Mrs. Paul Jacobs, Fosterville; and Enda; Austin, Detroit, and Erie in the service in France. He is a Selective Service man and was leader of a contingent of en that went to Ann Arbor to take special mechanical training, June 15, 1918 and was transferred to Rockford, Ill., August 4, 1918. He belongs to Co. B. and was promoted to rank of First -Class Private. He sailed for overseas service September 222, 1918, and has not returned home.

PTE LEWIS O. WEAVER
MARLETTE
Was born in Marlette Township, June 15, 1890 son of Lewis B. and Anna S. Weaver, and attended the Montgomery school. His occupation was farming. He Haas one brother and one sister;: George W. and Pearl. He went to Camp Mills, N.Y. July 14, 1918, and sailed for overseas. July 21, of the same year, a member of Co. A, 339th Infantry to Northern Russia. He died of pneumonia, September 15, 1918.

Was born In Delaware Township, October 3, 1891, son of William and Jennie, and attended the Kelly school District No. 2, and later the Y. M. C. A. Auto school. His occupation was automobile mechanic. He was married to Miss Selma Riedel at Minden, April 5, 1918. He is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer, and was leader of that contingent. On July 15, 1918 he was transferred to Camp Mills, N. Y. and left for France July 29, 1918. He belongs to Co. M, 340th Infantry, and is still in France.

Was born at Frederick, Michigan. May 16, 1890 son of Stephen and Goergina Moran, and attended the Carsonville schools. His occupation was farming. He has three brothers and five sisters: Emerson, Glenn, and Russell; Mrytle, Gladys, Winnifred, Ruby, and Bernice. He is a Selective Service man and went to camp Custer
April 29, 1918. In July he was transferred
camp Mills, N. Y. and shortly afterwards sailed for France. He belongs to Co. C, 18th Infantry. He was wounded on October 4, 1918, and was in the hospital at Vichy, France, when last heard of.

Was born in Worth Township, March 29, 1889, son of Martin and Orpha Sly, and attended the District school. His occupation was farming. He has two brothers and three sisters: Myron and Evart; Edna, Altha, and Iva. He went to Camp Custer November 22, 1917, as a Selective Service man. Transferred to Camp Pike December 16, 1917. He belonged to Battery B, 336th Regiment, Field Artillery. He was mustered out of the service December 9, 1918.

He is a Selective Service man and went from this county to Camp Custer on September 21, 1917, sailed for France on February 25, 1918 , with Co. 11, 119th Artillery. He was in the hospital six months on account of an attack of spinal meningitis. He has not return home.

service man and went to Camp Custer on September 21, 1917, sailing for France on February 25, 1918, with Co. 11, 119th Artillery. He was in the hospital six months on account of an attack of spinal Meningitis. He has not returned home.

Was born in Marion, Township. December 31, 1892, son of Charles and Eliza Moore, and attended the Deckerville school. His occupation was farming. He has three sisters and one brother: Belle, Sabra, and Nora; Marcus. Went to Camp Custer November 23, 1917, as a Selective Service man. Transferred to San Antonio, Texas, December 9, 1917, embarking for France February 24, 1918. He is a member of the 369th Areo Spuadron. He is still in the service.

SEAMAN RUSSELL A. FLETCHER
MELVIN
Was born in speaker Township, May 22, 1897, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Fletcher, and attended the district school, his occupation was farming. He has three sisters and one brother: Mrs. C.W. Phillips, Mrs. George Molesworth and Edythe; Charles. He enlisted in the navy June, 1918, at Detroit and went to the Great Lakes Training Station. In August was transferred to Norfolk, Va. He made home his first trip across November 23, 1918. He is a fireman on the U. S. S. Plattsburg transporting the soldiers home from overseas.

Was born in Flynn Township, October 27, 1984, son of John G. and Johanna Lenk, and attended District school No. 2. His occupation was farming. He has one sister and four brothers: Amelia, Gustave, Harry, George and Albert. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer September 21, 1917. Was transferred to camp Merritt, N. J., February 14, 1918, with Co. L. 168th Infantry. Was wounded at Cerges, July 29, 1918, and arrived in New York on November 14, and received his honorable discharge, January 30, 1919.

WAS BORN AT Leoti, Kansas, February 15, 1897, son of Mr. Mrs. George Willis, and attended the Deckerville schools. His occupation was farming. He has four brothers and three sisters: William, Harry, Russell and Clayton; Mrs. L G. Henry, Mrs. H. M. Willis And Myrtle. He is a Selective Service man, going to Camp Eustis, Va., October 24, 1918, and was one of the assistant leaders of the contingent. He belongs to the 64th Battery, 16th Section Anti Aircraft. He was muster out of service December 20, 1918.

Was born in Mackinaw County, June, 22, 1890, son of David and Minnie Harris, and was educated to the McHugh school and Dodge’s Institute, Valparasio, Ind. His occupation was farming. He has two brothers: Roy and Earl. He is a Selective Service man and departed for Camp Custer on September 7, 1917, and on July 10, 1918, was sent to camp Mills a and left for overseas on July 21, 1918 with the Headquarters 160th Field Artillery Brigade, with the rank of Corporal, and on September, was promoted to the rank o9f sergeant. Was born in Emmett, St. Clair County, Michigan May 19, 1893, son of john and lydia Lempke, and attended school near Brown City. His occupation was farming. He has three brothers: Fred, Walter, Willard. He went to Camp Custer November 22, 1917 leaving there with the 85th Division early in July 1918, for camp Mills N. Y. and left for overseas July 10th 1918, landing in England; from there he was transferred to Archangel, Russia, where is now. He is a member of the 339th Infantry, Replacement Battalion.

Was born in Ruth, Huron County, September 9, 1893, son of john and Elizabeth Ebach, and attended school in Huron County. His occupation was railway station agent. He has three brothers and one sister: Roy, Anthony, Herbert: Irene. He went to Camp Custer May 27, 1918, as a Selective Service man, as was transferred July 13, 1918, to Long Island. N. Y., and left for overseas September 25, 1918. He was promoted to First Class Private shortly after going overseas. He is a member Co. H. 339th Infantry, with the American forces in Northern Russia.

Was born in the Township of Maple valley April 3, 1891, son of Hiram Benjamin and Mary A. Stienhoff, and attended Valley Center school. His occupation was farming. He has four brothers: Hiram, Bert, Arthur, Frank. He went to Columbus Barracks, Ohio, as a Selective Service man May 16, 1918; transferred to Camp Merritt, N. J. and left for overseas August 17, 1918. He was seriously wounded November 3, 1918, while in action. He is still in the service.

PTE. FRANK J. WHEELER
Was born in England, November 7, 1893 son of David and Margaret Wheeler, and attended school in the land of his birth. His occupation was machinist. He has one sister and three brothers: Julia; Charles, Sidney and Harry. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer September 21, 1917. Transferred to Camp Merritt, N. J. sailing overseas February 1918. Was promoted to rank of First- Class Private shortly after arriving in France where he is now station. He is a member of302nd M. C.

He is a member of Battery C. 328TH Field Artillery, 85th Division.

Was born on Flynn Township, June 27, 1892, son of George and Amanda Amon, attended the Shooks school. His occupation was blacksmith. He has one sister and seven brothers. Floyd, Guy, Willis, Ernest, Frank, Dell, and Elbert; Hattie. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer May 27, 1918. Was transferred to Camp Mills, N. Y., sailing for Russia the latter part July. He is now stationed at Archangel, Russia, a member of Co. M, 339th Infantry. Was married July 24, 1917, to Miss Minnie Bowers at Peck.

Was born in Forestville June 6, 1895, son of Charles and Minnie Brumm, and attended District school in Custer . hiss occupation was farming. He has three brothers and two sisters; Charles, Louis, Henry; Clara, Ruth. He went to Camp Custer May 27, 1918, as a selective Service man and assistant leader of his contingent, and left for overseas service July 20, 1918. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal early in July. He belongs to Co. H,339th Infantry and is stationed in Northern Russia.

DECKER
Was born in Lamotte Township, March 7, 1892, son of John and Eliza G. Griffin, and attended the Moshier school, Lamotte Township. His occupation was farming. He has five brothers and three sisters: William, Robert, Thomas, Henry and Weston; Mrs. Ken Brown, Mrs. Herman, Mrs. Clyde Kenney, he went to Camp Custer November 23, 1917, as a Selective Service man, and in June 1918, was transferred to North Carolina, and left for overseas in July 1918. He belongs to Battery C,16 R, A., and is still in the service.

Was born in Delaware Township, February 25, 1892, son of Alonzo and J. Kerbyson, attended school, in Evergreen township. His occupation was farming. He has three brothers and three sisters: Mary, Maggie and Mattie; James, frank, and Gaylord. As a Selective Service man he went to Camp Custer November 23, 1917. Was transferred wit 85th Division to Camp Mills, N. Y., in July 1918, embarking for overseas service in August. He is a member of Supply Co.. 339th Infantry, and is station in Russia.

He was a mustered out of service December 26, 19918.

Was born in Bridgehamton township, November 23, 1893, son Elmer and Lillian Mahanna, attended the Carsonville high school. His occupation was mariner. He has two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Thos. Johnson and Eleanor; Ralph. He was a leader of a contingent of Selective Service man that went to Camp Greenleaf, Ga., March 5, 1918. Was transferred to Camp Merritt, N. J., April 16, 1918 sailed for overseas the following month- May. Since entering the service he has been promoted to the rank of Corporal. He is still in France, a member of Base Hospital, Co. 202.

Hemstreet; C. R. and James. On May 27, 1918 he went to Camp Custer with a contingent of Selective Service men. He was sent to Camp Mills, N. Y., July 1918, later sailing for Russia where he is now stationed with 339th Infantry, Co. M.

He has not returned home.

He is a member of Co. A. ammunition Train, as Wagoner. He is still at amp Custer never having been transferred.

Was born at Melvin, December 6, 1887, son of Mr. Mrs. George H. Bachelor, graduated from the Cleary college. His occupation was farming. He has two sisters and three brothers: Vida and Mrs.Ray MacLillian; Frank, Raymond and Berton. He is a Selective Service man going to Camp Custer September 21, 1917, was sent to Camp MacAuthur, Texas, with the 32nd Division in October. Transferred to Camp Merritt, N. J., the first of February, 1918 sailing for France the middle of the same month. He was promoted to rank of First - Class Private. He is still overseas with Battery F. 119th Field Artillery.

He was promoted to rank of First Class Private February 14, 1918, and afterwards raised to the rank of Corporal. Transferred to Camp ills, N. Y., July 1, 1918, sailing for France 20th of the same month. He belongs to Co. F, 338th Infantry, 85th Division, but was afterwards sent to Co. A. Division 58th Infantry, 4th Division. He is now with army of occupation.

Was born in Carsonville September 10, 1889, son of John and Elizabeth Slater, and attended the Fraser school. His occupation was farming. He has two brothers and four sisters: Henry and Leo; Susan, Mary, Ida, Agnes. He is a Selective Service man and left for Camp Custer August 30, 1918. He is still at Camp Custer and a member of Co. 78th Infantry.
 
 
CORP. ARTHUR S. CUMMER

Was born in Cadillac, Michigan November 29, 1898, son of Wilmer T. and Eleanor G. Cummer, and attended school at Sandusky. His occupation was farming. He has three brothers and one sister: Allen W., Edward A., Kenneth A.; Jessie M. he went to Camp Custer as a Selective Service man September 6, 1917. Was transferred to overseas July 1918. He is a member of the 310th Trench Mortar Battery and is still in the service.

PTE. JAMES A. HAMILTON
DECKER
Was born in Evergreen, Township, April 29, 1896, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Hamilton, and was educated at the Cass City High school and Cleary college. His occupation as clerical work. He has one brother and sister: Charlotte and Gordon. As an assistant leader of Selective Servicemen he went to Camp Custer, May 27,1918. He was transferred to Camp Mills, New York, July 20, 1918 sailing overseas the last of that month. He belonged to the Medical Department of 310th Ambulance, 85th Division. After the signing of the armistice he was transferred to the finance and accounting division of the chief surgeon’s office with headquarters at Tours, France, where he is now located.

CORP. PARK McALPINE

Was born in Custer Township, January 1, 1897, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McAlpine, attended the Lexington high school. His occupation was farming. He has eight sisters and two brothers: He is an Enlisted man entering the service at Detroit June 28, 1917, was sent to the State Camp at Grayling, and to camp MacArthur, Texas, September 15, 1917. He sailed for overseas February 5,1918, a member Co. G, 126th Infantry, 32nd Division. Promoted to rank of Corporal in May, 1918. Was wounded August 2, of the same year. He is now with the army of occupation on the Rhine, with the famous 32nd Division.

Was born in speaker Township, November 29, 1896, son of John J. and Maggie Hudie, attended Muck school, Flynn township. His occupation was dredging. He has three brothers: Roy, Herbert and Thomas. He is a Selective Service man and went to Camp Custer. April 1, 1918, transferred to Georgia and then Virginia. He sailed for overseas in July, 1918, and still is in the service.

Was born at Detroit, February 1 1889, son of Fred J. and Elizabeth A. Boehnke, and attended Detroit and Argyle schools. His occupation was carpentry. He has five sisters and three brothers: Nettie, Clara, Margaret, Alma and Ella; Max< Frederick and Arthur. As a Selective Service man he went to Camp Custer April 29, 1918, was transferred to Camp Mills, N. Y., July 20, 1918. And embarked for France in August. After arrival overseas he was transferred from Co. E. 310 Ammunition train to Battery A, 328th Field Artillery. He is in still in the service.

He left for Camp Custer May 27,, 1918, with a contingent of Selective Service men. Transferred to Camp Mills N. Y. sailing for England in July, from there to Russia, where he is now doing duty. He is a member of Co. M. 339th Infantry, 85th Division. Was married November 8, 1917, to Miss Lauretta Miller, at Sandusky.

Was born in Oakland County, Michigan, May 10, 1890, son of Samuel and Sushi Hillman, and attended the Deckerville schools. His occupation was farming. He has two sisters and three brothers: Grace and Cassell; Frank, Clyde and Leroy. As a Selective Service man he left this county for camp Eustis, Va. October 29, 1918. He was promoted to First Class Private in November. He belonged to the 15th Sector Anti Aircraft. Was mustered out of the service December 20, 1918.

Went to Camp Custer November 23, 1917, as a Selective Service man, later transferred to Camp Pike, Ark., and then to Dix. Was promoted to rank of Sergeant June 1, 1918, sailed for overseas September, 1918 with the 339th Field Artillery. He in now in France.
